Short description:

The Bachelor’s programme „Midwifery“ offers an academic training in midwifery in Austria for the first time. The professional and interdisciplinary as well as academic qualifications in combination with practical training focus on complex scenarios of the specific areas of work of midwives. In order to meet the increasing challenges in the organisational and societal scope of duties of midwives, additional issues such as women/family health as well as self-employment are dealt with in the 5th and 6th semester of the programme. The graduates are entitled to follow their profession in Austria as well as in all the other countries of the EU. They possess all the necessary professional qualifications required by the outline of midwifery according to the respective bill.
