Short description:
The word “midwife” derives from Middle English and denotes a woman (“wife”) who is with (“mid”) the mother at birth. Today it is still the midwife who “provides support” to women during pregnancy, birth and the period of recuperation immediately afterwards. This bachelor degree programme focuses on midwifery and obstetrics. You will acquire the necessary advisory capabilities and familiarise yourself with the profession in the course of several internships.
