Soft skills. In addition to a founded education based on knowledge, the individual degree programmes also teach their students the soft skills. Flexibility and openness – towards work under difficult circumstances with respect to culture, language, work and negotiating styles – these are skills which are essential for international firms. Being able to move around in all possible and perhaps even at first impossible situations in the business world is a prerequisite for making one’s way to the top.
Mix of subjects. The often wide array of subjects in the individual degree programmes leads also to a very comprehensive but also special education. Firms are often amazed by the multitude of areas of knowledge graduates have.
Young & clever. A further advantage is the age of graduates. Due to the selection procedure at the beginning and the possibility to finish one’s studies in the stated period of time, graduates are in general much younger than those from traditional universities.
A career that pays off. The starting salaries of graduates are impressive. Depending on the career field, they lie between 22,000 and 40,000 euros. Some graduates are even able to double their income after the first five years.
Job fair. The largest job fair in Austria takes place yearly at the University of Applied Sciences in Wiener Neustadt. Firms also have the possibility to recruit graduates every year at the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien.
