The environmentally sensitive and responsible arrangement of our living space and the mastering of social and integrative questions is the central theme of future development. The emphasis of the master program in Spittal is on practice- and project-oriented work complimented by workshops, seminars, lectures, competitions, jury feedback, excursions, and inter-disciplinary projects including ones with other universities both at home and abroad. A semester abroad at a partner university in the 2nd or 3rd semester is recommended. Through the choice of electives the students have, beside the central topics of Design and Construction, the possibility to choose their personally desired specialisations up to 50% of the necessary ECTS (dissertation included). The respective specialisations in this degree program are mainly concerned to organise specifically the development of planning processes which first and foremost comprise sustainable development (e.g., revitalisation) of architectural and town planning. In this process on the one hand it is important to initiate projects of very good quality but also on the other hand to methodically develop them further in the planning and to maintain this quality during their final execution.
