The part-time Master’s program in Digital Innovation* deals with the creative use of digital

FHWien der WKW is currently preparing two Master’s programs at the interface of digital technology and innovation: the Master’s program in Digital Innovation* and the more technically oriented Master’s program in Digital Technology & Innovation*.

    Focus & Qualifications

    Graduates combine skills from the fields of “digital technology” and “innovation“.

    Digital Technology

    You will acquire in-depth knowledge of digital technology. This puts you in a position to

    • make technology decisions,
    • design complex information systems and implement them as prototypes in agile teams and
    • familiarize yourself with emergent technologies.

    The focus is on:

    • cognitive systems: machine learning, generative artificial intelligence, intelligent assistance, data science
    • cyber-physical systems: internet of things, robotics, assistance systems, augmented reality

    Innovation

    You can lead interdisciplinary teams through innovation processes and mediate between different stakeholders. You attach great importance to user-centered, iterative and holistic working methods.

    Applied Research and Development

    You understand the benefits of academic integrity and are able to critically evaluate research and development results and make them comprehensible to others.

    Personal and Social Competencies

    The study program promotes your personal and social development:

    • You will improve you leadership skills in the context of complex projects.
    • You will learn to act as an expert in a technical environment.
    • You will train your creativity and resilience in a particularly dynamic environment.

    Highlights

    • Studying technology at a business school – if you want to combine the application of technology with applied economic thinking
    • 60 % online learning, often in teams – if you need to balance your studies, job and family but still don’t want to study on your own

    Entry requirements

    The admission requirements for the Master’s program in Digital Technology & Innovation are

    - Completion of a relevant Bachelor’s program at a university of applied sciences or
    - the completion of an equivalent study program at a recognized domestic or foreign post-secondary educational institution.

    We consider degrees at the interface of information technology and management, e.g. Bachelor’s degrees in digital business, business informatics, digital transformation, IT project management, industrial engineering and innovation management, to be relevant.

    Decisions on admission in individual cases are made by the head of program.
