In the part-time Mechatronics programme, you will develop an interdisciplinary skill set at the intersection of mechanics, electronics, and information technology. The curriculum focuses on future-oriented topics such as automation, control systems, and systems engineering – equipping you to actively contribute to the development of intelligent technical solutions.

The emphasis is on the practical application of in-depth knowledge in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. Through hands-on projects, specialisations, and elective modules – ranging from robotics and human-machine interaction to entrepreneurial thinking – you will continuously expand your technical expertise in a practical and relevant way.

Thanks to the part-time study format, you can ideally combine theory and practice: new insights gained from your studies can be directly applied in your professional environment – allowing you to drive technical innovation in a tangible and impactful way.

Your Career Opportunities

The part-time Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics prepares you for a wide range of forward-looking roles in technical and innovative fields. Upon graduation, you will not only possess solid technical knowledge but also the skills to actively shape connected and intelligent systems.

Potential fields and roles include:

  • Development Engineer
  • Research Engineer
  • Process Engineer
  • Test Engineer
  • Hardware Engineer

You will work on solutions that combine technical precision, innovation, and sustainable optimisation – contributing to the design of modern technical systems with vision and purpose. Your strengths: analytical thinking, practical expertise, and a clear understanding of how to bridge theory and practice.

Entry requirements

To be admitted, you must hold a general university entrance qualification (e.g. A-Levels, Matura, vocational baccalaureate) or an equivalent certificate. Applicants with a relevant professional qualification (such as an apprenticeship, technical college diploma, advanced technical college entrance qualification, or vocational maturity certificate) may also be eligible for admission. In such cases, additional entrance examinations at FHV are required.

The final decision on admission is made by the programme director.
