This programme will give you the skills to implement the most effective project management approaches – covering everything from conventional to agile and hybrid methods. You will become familiar with typical challenges associated with projects and learn how to work productively as part of a project team. Cybersecurity, mobile app development, big data, data mining and machine learning are key topics in IT. The curriculum encompasses identifying and protecting against security threats; future IT trends, the opportunities they present, and assessing and integrating them into your company and operations; a broad range of business topics; as well as academic approaches and structured problem solving.

The programme includes lessons in English as a foreign language, and English is also the working language for specific key topics.

As a graduate you will be able to:

  • Assume responsibility for team leadership and coordination in small to medium-sized national and international (IT) projects
  • Take on core project management functions within the framework of plan-based, hybrid and agile projects
  • take charge of resource and financial management in projects and apply risk management methods
  • Planning and executing small to medium-sized IT projects, developing IT strategies and IT products, and analysing and implementing technological solutions
  • Develop and implement software solutions and test strategies that meet requirements
  • Design and optimise data and database models and use AI applications in a targeted manner
  • Making decisions that take into account business, financial, legal, social and environmental implications
  • Collaborate in the analysis, modelling, improvement and control of process and quality management and support creative processes.
  • Systematically analyse and solve problems and actions and communicate them in technical English.

Entry requirements

Austrian secondary school leaving certificate (Matura), vocational matriculation qualification, general university entrance examination for social and economics sciences, foreign equivalent of an Austrian school-leaving certificate, subject-relevant apprenticeship or graduation from a school for intermediate vocational education (BMS) with additional examinations in English, German and mathematics
