The major in Strategic Management & Tourism equips students with the entrepreneurial spirit required to take on executive positions in tourism and tourism-related service industries. The program offers a unique range of focus areas including entrepreneurship and leadership skills, international tourism and markets, destination and innovation as well as family business management. The latter subject particularly deals with the specific challenges of family-owned small and middle-sized companies within a more and more internationally oriented tourism and leisure industry, which is characterized by growing competitive constraints. The Marketing Management & Tourism branch allows students to acquire a sound understanding of the skills, knowledge and theories needed to practically apply entrepreneurial thinking and work as executives for service providers in the tourism and tourism-related industries. The courses offered within the scope of this branch of study in particular focus on current problems and major concepts in tourism marketing. The combination with further attractive key areas, such as entrepreneurship and leadership skills, international tourism and markets as well as destination and innovation, offers students a unique opportunity to gather management expertise in the field of international tourism.
