  • MSc
  • Extra occupational, Full-time
  • English
  • 4 Semester
  • Innsbruck

The master's degree program in Mechatronics and Smart Technologies provides the necessary methodological skills in the fields of electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science and smart technologies to later fill top management positions in international companies in the automotive industry, special machine engineering, semiconductor technology and many more. Future-oriented topics such as:

  • Image Processing
  • Drive Systems
  • Power Electronics
  • Automation
  • Simulation
  • Robotics

are in the focus. The latest innovations in the fields of electronics and mechanical engineering are studied in more depth (e.g. interdisciplinary project).

In addition to the latest technical know-how, the future engineers also learn essential skills in the areas of management and leadership, entrepreneurship and start-up foundation.

In order to guarantee the practical relevance of the program, numerous laboratories, projects and technical case studies are planned in parallel to the lectures, enabling students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. To this end, the MCI draws not only on its own teaching staff but also on an international network of experts from the field.

Students in the Master's program benefit from the opportunity to study for a year at renowned universities in France, Spain or the USA, to specialize further and also to obtain a second degree (double degree).

Entry requirements

The Master program in Mechatronics & Smart Technologies is open to graduates of Bachelor and Diploma programs in the fields of engineering/engineering science or natural sciences whose curricula involve at least 75 relevant ECTS points. The decision on the acceptability of prior qualifications is taken by the Program Director.
