In the full-time Mechatronics programme, you will gain comprehensive skills at the intersection of mechanics, electronics, and information technology. You will engage in-depth with current and emerging topics such as automation, control systems, and systems engineering – learning how to design and implement complex mechatronic systems.

The programme places strong emphasis on both theoretical and practical knowledge in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. Through project work, specialised modules, and elective courses – in areas such as robotics, sensor technology, or artificial intelligence – you will systematically and practically expand your technical expertise.

The full-time format allows you to fully focus on innovative technical challenges and provides excellent preparation for demanding roles in research, development, and industry.

Your Career Opportunities

The full-time Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics prepares you specifically for technical and development roles in a forward-looking professional field. You will acquire in-depth knowledge in mechanics, electronics, and computer science, and learn how to independently design and implement modern, intelligent systems.

Typical areas of employment and roles include:

  • Development Engineer
  • Process or Test Engineer
  • Hardware Developer
  • Automation Technician
  • Roles in research and product development

Graduating from this programme opens up a wide range of career opportunities in industry, technology companies, and applied research. You will work on innovative projects, combining technical expertise with structured problem-solving – and play an active role in making products, processes, and systems more efficient and future-ready.

Entry requirements

To be admitted, you must hold a general university entrance qualification (e.g. A-Levels, Matura, vocational baccalaureate) or an equivalent certificate. Applicants with a relevant vocational qualification (such as an apprenticeship, technical college diploma, advanced technical college entrance qualification, or vocational maturity certificate) may also be eligible for admission. In such cases, additional entrance examinations at FHV are required.

The final decision on admission is made by the programme director.
