The profession of food manager is as multifaceted as food itself. The degree programme provides you with in-depth training in the production, development and marketing of sustainably produced food. The degree programme covers current developments in the entire food system and provides practice-oriented knowledge along the entire food chain from a sustainability perspective.

Practice

During your studies, you will deepen your knowledge of all areas of the value chain. Practical periods and many exciting excursions to various companies allow you to combine theoretical and applied knowledge. You can complete work placements in various companies along the value chain. After graduating, you will have access to jobs in a wide range of sectors, from agriculture to industrial and commercial production and trade. 

Occupational fields

Food production is one of the largest and most internationally successful economic sectors in Austria. Our graduates therefore have a wide range of fields of activity open to them: In processing, in production, in purchasing, with new product and marketing ideas, in sales, in retail or in quality, environmental or hygiene management. Or even in agriculture with farm succession. After your Bachelor's degree, the advanced Master's programme ‘Food: Product and Process Development’ opens up many additional career opportunities.
