The Sustainable Packaging Technology degree program was developed together with the packaging industry and provides an overview of the most important packaging materials of paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and glass. The practically oriented program covers the entire life cycle of packaging, from development to production and all the way to marketing and quality management. The focus is on employability and sustainable product design. Disposal and recycling also plays an important role in the program.

What we offer you

The degree program was developed together with leading companies in the packaging industry and brand owners who also provided the impetus to create the program. In teaching and research we also cooperate with the University of Munich, the Technical University of Vienna and the Austrian Research Institute for Chemistry and Technology. This network allows us to attract outstanding lecturers, develop R&D projects and make excursions to industrial facilities. This provides you with excellent opportunities to make valuable contacts for your future career already during your studies. The degree program itself is located at the Campus Vienna Biocenter. You will have access to the ultramodern auditoriums and laboratories for chemistry and microbiology of the renowned life sciences location. In addition, you will benefit from FH Campus Wien as a multidisciplinary university. For example, the Molecular Biotechnology degree programs conduct research in the field of cell-based test systems. The Sustainable Packaging Technology degree program is also involved here, testing packaging for hormone activity. The Campus Lectures also explore current and diverse topics with prominent experts from the industry and FH Campus Wien regularly invites you to join these public lecture evenings.

Entry requirements

Graduation certificate from an academic or vocational secondary school, university entrance qualification examination (Studienberechtigungsprüfung) or relevant vocational qualification with additional examinations. Equivalent certification from abroad.
