IMC Krems General Nursing degree will prepare you for a range of nursing duties. Combining theory and practice, it covers various nursing topics including acute care (care in hospital surgery and internal medicine wards), long-term care (for residents of care facilities), mobile care (for people in their homes) and rehabilitation care.
Besides patient-focused duties, you will also be well prepared for the organisational tasks and community-related responsibilities of your day-to-day work.
Studying such a broad curriculum has a major benefit: you can decide which area of nursing you want to work in after you have completed your degree.
As a graduate of IMC Krems’ General Nursing degree programme you will have the skills required to assume high-grade positions in the Austrian nursing and care sector, and meet the requirements of the Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegegesetz (Austrian Health Care and Nursing Act).
After graduating from the bachelor programme, you can either start working in the profession straight away or continue your studies, for instance with a postgraduate degree in health management or nursing science. Alternatively you could opt for a continuing education course in a specialist area such as intensive care or hospital hygiene. You can also take our Advanced Nursing Practice master degree programme once you have at least two years of professional experience.
