How do you become an occupational therapist?
Anyone wishing to start a career as an occupational therapist in Upper Austria can begin by attending the bachelor programme occupational therapy at the University of Applied Sciences for Health Professions Upper Austria in Linz. The six-semester programme ends in a Bachelor of Science in Health Studies (BSc) degree. The programme combines sound theory with practical experience. The focus is on supporting people in maintaining or regaining their independence: from occupational therapy assessments and targeted interventions to optimal provision of aids, home design, workplace consulting or individual strategies for coping with everyday life – in both preventatitve and curative settings.
