Speech and Language therapy ist concerned with disorders of speechunderstanding, spoken and written language, articulation, breathing, voice, orofacial functions, hearing abilities and swallowing with occures in new-born till elderly persons.
The main task of the speech and language therapist / speech and language pathologist is prevention, investigation, diagnostic, therapy and scientific research of impairments in human verbal and nonverbal communication.
The course is divided into modules, some of which are offered interdisciplinary. The study areas consist of general and job-related medical basics and relevant contents from related science.
The curriculum is characterized by a balance of proper theoretical education, science and practical training.
In addition to acquiring technical and methodological skills, students also are trained in social and communicative skills, such as conflict resolution skills, ability to self-reflection, teamwork and so on.
