IMC graduates honoured at the Health Research Award

Nora Mehwald and Konrad Zenczak both studied Management von Gesundheitsunternehmen at the IMC Krems. Their outstanding master theses were honoured with the Health Research Award 2024 at this year’s conference of the Fonds Gesundes Österreich (FGÖ).

Nora Mehwald impressed the jury with her practice-orientated and forward-looking research work. The title of her thesis, which was awarded first place in the "Management in Healthcare" category, is "Auswirkungen der Menstruation auf den Arbeitsalltag pflegerischer Mitarbeiterinnen österreichischer Krankenanstalten", dealing with the effects of menstruation on the everyday work of nursing staff.

Konrad Zenczak took second place in the "Healthcare" category. The title of his thesis is "Die Entlassung in die Obdachlosigkeit. Eine Analyse der Entlassungsbedingungen von obdachlosen Personen in Gesundheitseinrichtungen", dealing with the discharge conditions of homeless people in healthcare factilities. It scored points for its high scientific and social value.

About the Health Research Award

The Health Research Award is presented annually by the Austrian network of study degree programmes in health management in cooperation with companies and competence centres. It honours outstanding master theses that deal with current issues in the healthcare sector. There are 4 award categories: Climate and Health, Health Promotion, Healthcare Management and Healthcare Provision. The Health Research Award recognises and supports young researchers and promotes the transfer of knowledge between universities and companies.
