Internationally, the higher health care and nursing services in primary care facilities has played an important role for years. In Austria, this field is now to be expanded, thereby facilitating access to health services and help with health issues through primary care facilities. In these facilities, centrally anchored core teams consisting of the higher health care and nursing services, primary care physicians and ordination assistants work closely together. It is planned to also house other health and social professions in such institutions.

As a Primary Health Care Nurse, you will play an essential role in all areas of disease prevention in the primary care facility. Your main tasks include identifying and advising on lifestyle and living environment-associated risks, long-term care of chronically ill and multimorbid patients as well as preventive home visits.

You will also take preventive measures for geriatric health risks, help identify health resources and support individuals, groups and families in their efforts to improve health.
