In health-focused educational institutions people are in demand who can diagnose and analyse didactical problems based on scientific knowledge and methods and who can evolve target-group-specific solutions, present them and put them into practice. Alumni and alumnae of the master-course have qualifications that enable them to arrange tasks in patches like teaching, management, mentoring and instructions in practical settings in a professional way.

How do you become a higher education didactics specialist for healthcare professions?

Anyone who teaches in the healthcare sector or would like to achieve teaching skills at master's level can attend the career-enabling master's program in university didactics for healthcare professions at the University of Applied Sciences for Healthcare Professions Upper Austria in Linz. The four-semester program (120 ECTS) finishtes with the academic degree Master of Science (CE). It imparts practical skills for planning, implementing, and reflecting on teaching and examination processes, supervising scientific work, and using digital and AI-supported teaching methods. Graduates assume responsible positions in academic teaching and educational development in the healthcare sector, design learning processes, lead curriculum and quality development projects, and supervise students in scientific work. The combination of didactics, leadership and management, research and practice opens up a many career paths – from clinical instruction and teaching to programme management.

Entry requirements

Eighter a bachelor’s degree or superior degree in health professions, a degree in medical technical duty /midwifery or a caring certificate with an exceptional professional balance of services
